Type 2 Diabetes Has Been Reversed For Patients Who Follow These 5 Steps In North Scottsdale AZ
Yes, this is true. Myself and many of my colleagues and have quite a few patients at my North Scottsdale AZ chiropractic clinic who’ve reversed their type 2 diabetes. It can be done if the patient wants to make it happen. These are 5 powerful steps you can take to regulate your blood sugar, feel better, and increase your general health as well. For this to work, you’ve got to follow each of the steps, not just some of them.
Remove All Sugar In North Scottsdale AZ
This means naturally occurring as well as added sugar. The average person consumes unhealthy amounts of sugar. Most patients will tell me that they don’t put sugar on anything, and don’t eat sweets. However, once I look at their daily food journal, that includes not only the food they eat and the time of day they eat it but the brands of food products they eat. Dressings, condiments, frozen, and packaged foods are generally loaded with sugar now. Even healthy organic items that are otherwise healthy, have not only naturally occurring sugars, let alone added sugar.
When you buy any food products, always read the label. Not just for the calories, fats, and carbohydrates, but the sugars and added sugars. Notice different brands, and whenever possible, buy the one with either no sugar or no added sugar. To put this into perspective, 1 teaspoon of white table sugar, or even cane sugar, has 4 grams of sugar. Even healthy drinks like protein drinks, electrolyte blends, and others can have at least 16 grams of sugar. That’s 4 teaspoons of sugar! This amount can be in bread, cereals, and many food items you might not be aware of. Fruit sugar, or fructose, is still sugar. Eating too much fruit every day is just as bad. Fruit consumption for diabetics should include small amounts of very low sugar fruit like berries, if even at all until your condition is reversed.
Stop Eating All Grains
I know this is one of the toughest changes for any of us to make, but eating a low inflammatory, grain-free diet is necessary to reverse your type 2 diabetes. This is also necessary to reverse many other inflammatory diseases as well. The switch to a grain-free diet takes time, but it’s worth it for your health in the long run. Grains are such a staple in our western diet. The food pyramid has been way off since the 1990s when it was implemented. Recommending people eat multiple servings of grains that are high in carbohydrates, have only small amounts of protein, and small amounts of beneficial fats per serving placed our population into a crisis of diabetes, heart disease, and other life-threatening diseases.
Most patients tell me they’re gluten-free, but still unknowingly consume harmful grains. Grains are inflammatory, which is part of the reason diabetics do not manage insulin properly. Although whole grains generally have a lower glycemic index, the inflammatory process that is triggered by eating grains is just as bad, if not worse for the diabetic than the lower glycemic index. Today, there are delicious grain-free products and grain-free flours that work perfectly for this.
Avoid All Vegetable Oil, Canola Oil, And Seed Oils
I wrote an article on this a few months ago, so please email me for a copy, if you didn’t read it. The bottom line is that they are highly toxic and inflammatory. Stick with extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, real avocado oil mayo, coconut oil, macadamia nut oil, and ghee.
Instead, add in fatty meats and quality wild-caught seafood. Fatty meats are necessary for our diet to get our fat-soluble nutrients. Just don’t overdo it, as fatty meats are higher in calories. It helps iron absorption and helps build muscle mass that increases your metabolism. An especially important part of why diabetics gain weight and suffer from metabolic syndrome.
Lose Weight
There is no benefit to anyone, let alone diabetics to having more than 10 pounds of extra fat. In most cases, it’s belly fat. This fat surrounds your organs, causing them to function improperly. This is why obesity and diabetes were 2 of the comorbidities, or ‘other conditions’ that caused some COVID patients to suffer greatly, or even die. There are 7 miles of blood vessels in one pound of fat. That means your little heart pumps blood through 7 miles of these vessels in only one pound of fat. Think about 10 extra pounds of fat that require the heart to pump through 70 miles of vessels. One of my favorite analogies is that approximately 15 pounds of extra fat cause your heart to pump blood from Cave Creek to Sedona. That puts it into perspective, doesn’t it?
